Dame Trott, from the Belgrade’s panto Jack and the Beanstalk is asking the people of Coventry to nominate their men to join her on stage in the village of Prickly Bottom and help make lemon meringue pies during the show.
This damsel in distress is looking for some courageous men to help her and her sons Jack and Simon in their Prickly Bottom Bake Off, in a last ditch attempt to save the dairy from going into liquidation.
Dame Trott can be quite fussy when it comes to men though, so they need to be over 18 years of age and fit and healthy. Most importantly, they need to have a good sense of humour and be willing to get up on stage during the show.
Dame Trott said, “I’m searching for a good looking hunk, well, a fairly attractive male, OK, any man who can stand and breathe on his own! Please help me by nominating your boyfriend, husband, dad, workmate or boss to come up on stage and help us save the dairy for our beloved village Prickly Bottom. They have to be a good sport though as it may get messy!”
If you know of any men that are coming to see the show and who would be brave enough to lend a hand to Dame Trott, please nominate them by emailing the name of the person you would like to nominate, along with the time and date of the performance he will be attending to Steve Cressy at scressy@belgrade.co.uk. Please put ‘Panto Nomination’ in the subject line of your email.
The person nominated must be sitting downstairs in the stalls so if possible, please provide the seat number or row he will be sat in.
You can also submit your nomination by post. Title your letter ‘Panto Nomination’ and mark it for the attention of Steve Cressy, Company Stage Manager – then either send it to The Belgrade Theatre, Belgrade Square, Coventry CV1 1GS, or hand it in at box office.
The (un)lucky man won’t know a thing about it until Dame Trott comes to find him during the show so this is the perfect opportunity to play a joke on a boss, wind-up your dad or simply get revenge on a friend.
Jack and the Beanstalk will be playing on the Belgrade’s Main Stage from Weds 27 Nov to Sun 5 Jan. Tickets are available now from the theatre’s Box Office on 024 7655 3055 priced from £13.50 to £22.25, with child and concession tickets from £10.50.
